A youth, identified as Suman Ghosh, was severely beaten by a group of fruit traders in Makardaha market, Domjur, after he ate fruit without informing the shopkeeper. Despite apologizing, he was attacked with belts, leaving him seriously injured. The entire assault was captured on CCTV. Following the incident, a complaint was lodged at Domjur Police Station, leading to the arrest of several individuals involved in the attack.
Hours after the beating, tensions escalated as locals vandalized the fruit shop in retaliation. The situation turned volatile, prompting police and RAF personnel to be deployed in large numbers. Law enforcement officials have been stationed in the area to prevent further violence. Investigations are underway to identify all individuals responsible for both the assault and the subsequent vandalism.
